Historic Architecture Tours
2014 season runs May 24 through September 27!
Explore Madison’s historic neighborhoods, commercial districts, and the UW’s traditional campus with experienced and enthusiastic docents. Our tours have become a highlight for visitors and residents who want a deeper look at Madison’s cultural, architectural, and development history.
New tour for 2014 – Our new tour of the Marquette Bungalow neighborhood debuts this season. The 47 Craftsman style bungalows in this small historic district are the densest concentration of Craftsman style homes in the city.
This season’s schedule features a tour every Saturday morning at 11 AM throughout the summer, and “Twilight Tours” on Thursdays at 6 PM.
Our tours are exterior. We do not go inside buildings.
Reservations: No reservations are required for scheduled tours. Simply show up at the starting point at the scheduled time. Please call ahead if you plan to bring a large group, so we can be sure to have enough docents available.
Costs: Tours are $10 for adults, $5 for students and seniors (60+), and FREE for MTHP members. (Memberships start at $40. Student memberships are $25. Join online!)
Specially arranged tours: We are happy to arrange special tours at unscheduled times as docents are available. We require a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the fee for the expected number of guests. Please call 441-8864 for further information.
