Orpheum Theatre: Behind the Scenes

Visit the opulent interior of the historic “New” Orpheum Theatre, designed by Chicago architects Rapp and Rapp.  Tour the backstage areas of this magnificent space where movies and live acts have shown continually since its opening in 1927, and see why one movie mogul remarked “we sell tickets to theaters, not movies.”

This one-hour tour meets inside the entrance of the Orpheum Theater, 216 State St. Reservations are required; call 441-8864.

Cost:  $10 Adults,  $5 Students and seniors,   FREE for MTHP members.  (A basic membership is $30. Click HERE to join.)

Special arrangements: We are happy to arrange private tours as docents are available.  We require a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the fee for the expected number of guests. The balance of the fee will be based to the actual number of guests.  Please call 441-8864 for more information.
